Really take care of things; consistency and accuracy.

Live it up!  Thinking down might get the others down too!
After 7 years of writing about productivity,  the following is a short summary.
Now that the economic fireworks are streaming across the media,
the eyes and ears of everyone interested will be on every story but this....

New business often activity takes a lot of  pomp and pull, wacky behavior,
wacky things, clowns and cheering and lot's and lot's of encouragement in the beginning.  The majority of society is concerned with their housekeeping, their jobs, and going about their responsibilities.  Many others are very concerned, maybe more than usual,  and the unfortunate part is that the ones who are concerned about expanding the economy are the ones often cynical about the potential of a real fix.  So, as much as my principles steer away from random, arbitrary forecasting or  hunches, the recovery is as much positively mental as is remaining in a cynical, mental slump.  Here's more: It takes American-like big ideas and individualism.  It takes promotion to keep going once a system is begun, even trumpets and drums, and parades and gallantry. Read about  the theme park like "Country Stores" ideas where a small community can even take away some of the customers at the "Big Box" stores where all the traffic goes.  Some "Country Festivals" that compete with "Big Box" stores have begun with a few tables, and then grown into state-wide economic successes visited by dignitaries.

Attention....Nowhere man is called up!
June 1st, 2040...

Bickering, lack of focus, and a political and educational obstacle
course has been blamed...

A few dozen U.S. cities are listed by Furbes Magazine as possibly having a group learning disorder.  They have discovered thousands of idle machines. Some think it may be a focus disorder, or information reception malady. Since January, 100,000 have taken paid retirements and innovators and savants of the secrets in many of the tooling and mechanical fields are requested by the Defense and the State Department to temporarily return, to report; to save the economy.

A Spartan's effort for a brisk recovery to prevent the spread of  retirements and
national loathing.  Asia May 2040 has a change of guard.....(more acceptable term.)

There is a massive flow of innovations, tens of thousands of new inventions, and it has been discovered, a scarcity of jig makers, and operations specialists. Asia has temporarily ceased trading with the Western world.  Nowhere man  is being broadcasted in the front of town hall, and volunteers are requesting the services of jig makers to demonstrate automation and duplication.   Machine specialists are reading IMM, and are needed to revive productivity and save thousands the remaining national tool suppliers. A political and educational obstacle course has been blamed and machinery and the brisk activity of the past century is gone. Politics and services are beginning to show critical symptoms too. George, the Nowhere Man, annoyed individual, but ambitious citizen discovered hanging by Woodjig, com has been revved up and notified to orchestrate a revival and a last ditch effort for a brisk recovery and to prevent national loathing....Tune in monthly, Furbies Magazine, June 1st, 2040.

Cutting edge method, affordable box joint jig...Minnie Cut

Having a more precise
operation in woodworking becomes really interesting when many discover that much of the pleasure is in the (production mode).  This isn't meant to sound clever, but once the system, or once an operation starts to produce things, people like the rhythm, the pulse and the timing.  They also like the feel and sight of everything working.  At times, and with things all running in sync, a machine operator is like a kid sledding, where no matter what is going on all around, the machine is working right and, consequently some don't want to see it stop.

We have to see smaller in order to get bigger.

To begin to be more productive we need to practice being more precise, and the best and simplest way is to use jigs and to learn to use precision instruments.  Two of the most important tools are the micrometer and the caliper.  Now, with the development of an easier to use digital calipers on the market, woodworkers can see smaller and then begin to make bigger.  Sometimes,  when working in a smooth operation where there are few mistakes it becomes enjoyable, and you even wish that you could play on.

A good  operation, especially a safe one, is almost like a playground for some, where time seems surreal, and productivity is almost effortless.  That is the goal.  Another level of woodworking productivity begins with instruments that are more precise, guaranteeing better results without the risk of guessing.

Most people who buy
tools don't consider that machines are a means to a certain goal; which is a smooth operation with the least amount of effort and mistakes.  Many who work with tools  know, that this is a noble, productive way to spend time, and to "Make hay."
For many that goal is also to make work more agreeable, especially more predictable using those well built, long sought after machines and tools.  With all of these "factors" covered, and by integrating predictable jigs and precision principles the result is integral...leading to predictable,  more effortless, tradable products that many people need, and yet still can't find.

The Newest affairs, Markets and Festivals...

Maybe one of the few alternative to Walameratopia....

To some, Wal-ameratizing their country town has it's plus's and minus's.
The minus's are that they don't put a lot of initial joy into the existing merchants, and they really keep most people dependent on current day economies without much need to begin,  improve, or expand, or advance our domestic manufacturing supply lines and systems.   In fact, some go out of business and don't have the resources to diversify and challenge some of the micro-automated practices of the big box warehouses.  In fact, as you probably know, they displace a majority of certain types of local businesses, and replace them with franchises run from a central command of economic experts, many from another state.  This often concerns the local, established business people when many of the future decisions in their new, up and coming economy are made by the highly motivated, highly determined production specialists the local people don't really know.

About the town markets...

The town markets mostly passed out of existence because around the middle of the 20th
Century (mid 1900's) and a whole new "economy of scale" was introduced which had worldwide possibilities for the brilliant and determined production specialists across America.  That was a good thing.  It helped to develop mass markets of enormous surplus and profits which benefited the whole system.  We didn't have to worry about what some of the third world countries had to tolerate, and with all of the profits, we overcame extended poverty and built an entire middle class.  Now, as many know, because of numerous factors, town markets are again returning to protect towns that are too small for a Wal-ameritopia  yet not willing to let the retailer move in and begin an entirely different economy based upon an "economy of scale" which is now large portion of imported, merchandise.  How do some cities begin to battle the corporate invasion?

Knowing that the community can use a Muti-funtional market, they build "Festival Marts" like they did for thousands of years in Europe.  In Ohio for example, they have "Jungle Jim's" with 6 acre's of stores! Around some of these markets they even build hotels and car lots, book stores, even  recreation theme parks. They sell furniture, they are an outlet for innovators and skilled craftsman who can add a variety of products, but only if they know how to make things in a little higher volume.  Pretty soon, I will predict,  the Jungle Jim off- shoot products will appear... "Jim's" clothing, foods,  "Jungle Jim's" manufacturing facilities and a whole new economy spreading even into a broader, more national scope.

Woodworkers might want to expand their abilities then to mechanize their rooms full of idle
machines....that's the idea behind the Mascut...Mass-Cut.

It is the acquisition of skills in particular, irrespective of
their utility, that is potent in making life meaningful. Since
man has no inborn skills, the survival of the species has depended
on the ability to acquire and perfect skills. Hence the mastery
of skills is a uniquely human activity and yields deep satisfaction.

America needs to mount a network of communication in which “speak to each other.”
Ben Franklin called it "Voluntary Association."  Making available unique, useful and
productive ideas and techniques.  Otherwise, our communities, our self determination, our tax base is
insecure.  Economists, engineers, inventors and manufacturers need to
share issues and ideas.

The Mascut 1.0  is actually a "duplication" device.  Invent  something, and use this jig to easily
duplicate it.  Of course you do need a table saw.  This is not simply an adjustable cutoff fixture.
It can be, but it's way more. It is a simple, precise, gauging system that is the answer to having
to make any adjustments.  Adjustments take more time. It has memory, so you have less to
remember, and adjust.
