The Fifty Giants of Industry

Eye candy instead of sweet talking technology?

Why so many problems with solving problems?
We really haven't prepared enough young people for thinking critically, or for
doing research, or preparing for a brain-centered, or mechanical and technological economy.  It is a fashion-centered economy.  The techno-mechanical economy is one which requires sophisticated thought, advanced intelligence, and which is often in constant transition and change. A single person teaching a whole room full of over-active, and some under-active or un-interested students has almost been the model of the technological demands of our technical age.  Yet, students need to prepare to face an intelligence challenge or struggle in a society and market of transition. They rarely receive private, exclusive, or individual attention leading to deeper insight and more intelligence. "Custom and fashion" and finding fault is what is popular and acceptable in a culture.   Sometimes it is because we have pre-packaged rules,  with little room for practice or for error. It is the exclusive practice of only one certain formula, and the striving for fashion and the pressure to practice only certain exclusive learning  methods and manners without encouraging investigation or experimentation.  This all restricts further, more advanced investigation and economic or technological market competence

In conclusion,  our " Real World Times" require past situations, past
experience,  and significant parallels as much as present experience and customs.

The "Fifty Giants of Industry" has this sweet talking....
past experience, connects, and significant parallels.

__________

Attention!  This is a conversation you might have heard from
George since 2001 as his containers are all full and his machine is coming to a stop:

"Economic surplus has, and may  always depend  upon producing things in volume in order to compete.  New ideas for furniture for example proliferate, yet few know how to get to the next level.  Ok, the saw is loud and our hearing is still faint, so get up close:  Our jigs are "hand made" in our shops to provide "mass made" volume capabilities.  No, this isn't about Iron Maiden.  The Mascut can turn a table saw, normally thought to be a tool for making things by hand,  into a high volume machining center using basic tools and techniques. The Minnie Cut is a perfect "Primer" in demonstrating the precision abilities of a well-gauged device.  It is like "Gauging 101."  Yep, you have an eye for it now.  We need to have an eye for even the strangest productive stuff.  For many, it's the wider picture, the "unseen road" of using jigs that many have found here since 2001.

Get informed from the outside in, or
however, but know the ropes.  Tools are not
only just for past-times.   We learn and advance from past
times....but rarely during out pastime.

Pas-times...

Everyone it seems wants to use their tools
as a Pastime?

Tools, machines, even books and magazines
have always been intended for hobbies and pastimes...
Here's is some info for " Real World Times."

You've noticed it.....
Reading material for industry has often followed one just one menu.  Too often our expertise comes slow, often vague through a conventional process to gain real solid abilities. In order to maximize your productivity and your abilities you need information providing real insight.  Tools, especially woodworking tools were mostly considered a pastime, like doing 1,000 piece puzzles, and that's fine but....

What is the The 50 Giants of Industry?

Draw your own conclusions, but human intel has become power.  For some to obtain expertise, they need to go outside the boundaries.  The media has told us how to think for awhile. Since the major news and newspapers are all restructuring it seems; maybe they haven't delivered the goods. The other "traditional" information sources have been rapidly scrambling to offer more. You are interested in tools and woodworking...but not a pastime right? When you are searching for efficient, to the point tips and techniques, discern.  This book has gathered the answers together for you.

Get the ideas and the connections your expertise demands.

Since 2001, delivering the insight "off the program" a little off the menu" and even "outta the park" at Woodjig.com. Get informed from the outside in, or however, but know the ropes.  Your tools are not just for past-times.
