Read more: What is a duplication jig?
Your ordinary
table saw can easily work like a copy machine. You can turn your
table saw
into a copy machine by implementing a stop-gage system. We
recommend ours, but you
need a stop on your fence, and to use individual gages to locate and
make accurate crosscuts.
The Mascut jig fits most table saws with miter grooves, and is an improved
design. It even
contain a simple record keeping system and much more. Just using an accurate miter fence is fine, but
a
sliding stop is not always easy to accurately return to for future processes. We make the
Mascut 1.0,
for positive
gauging. Plus, if you can already read a micrometer or calipers, you will have a whole new
outlook, and approach to woodworking. With
all of the unique information included in the package, your capabilities will accelerate
only after a short time with this device. See our page for
learning how to use
Micrometers.

Henry Ford said...."Whenever people learn to become self-sustaining
on farms or in small rural communities, then industry will seek
out these communities. Industry will follow people to the
smaller
towns and many of our problems will be solved."
- Ford News, April 1934.
What this might have meant was "If they knew how to earn
a living other than farming, then the cities would not have been so
crowded with job seekers.

Have you
ever thought about what you could do if you could
duplicate in
your shop? Wouldn't it even be an awesome thing to
know, and to pass on to your kid or the nephew?
Now you can learn to use the Mascut
1.0 in less than 10 minutes.
This
is not rocket science. Just what do you mean by duplication?
Duplication obviously means making something identical,
like
cloning.....using the minimum set up time.

improved Mascut 1.0.

Most
solutions, most skills
and woodworking"know how" have to be
learned
the hard way after many long years of mistakes.
Did you ever go to a website for a
university
for example looking to solve a problem? Your looking for
clear information that you need from an expert. You think... wow
this is a university! Now, if I can't find the answers here, they
just
aren't anywhere. Then, maybe you look at their index and see 45
different stories about a subject you trusted they could
elaborate on. Suddenly you realize it's all written
in some indistinguishable jargon? So you try the next
article to see if it makes any possible connection. After
thinking "what does all of this mean?".... you just
shake your head and give up. This
doesn't happen with
learning to use jigs. We are not a university, so we try to
raise your learning curve without any confusing lessons,
scrutiny, tests, or even grades!
Here is an example of what I am talking about.
Last week an e-mail ended up in our mail box by mistake.
It said "Information
from certificate in personnel practice
and certificate in management practice course notes." Not
to knock higher education, discipline, or authority here, but what
does this mean?
Getting back to woodworking....
there might not be any institutions or guilds around to teach
how to make things in volume. If there were, you could ace
the test after using the Mascut 1.0. All we ask from
people is that they follow good safety measures, and
work safe! No exams, no thesis.

Crafters, novices,
and even established shops need a
duplication device
to get their ideas out there.
Nothing really
changes.....
Generations from now most woodworkers are
still going to look at their wood shop after awhile and say.....
There must have been some reason I built this nice shop, I just
don't remember. It seems like only a
few woodworkers
actually learn duplication! Most woodworkers will never understand what
most machines and tools are really for. Most people will say, tools are
either for fixing things, or for
manufacturing. In a factory,
tools are stretched to the limit and the most rewarding thing
in the world is to see the way some tools and machines produce
way beyond their limits. Many engineers look at a machine for
it's
potential. They look at them for how many huge orders
they can fill, not how shiny or
how many features are included.
The Mascut
1.0 is a great wood jig for accurate and repeatable
cuts
without the use of CNC. It does not require circuits, wires
or a solution
provider or consultant to keep it running. No
bugs or glitches, because it is
not guided by a computer program.
There are no drivers, or power supply. It has
no codes to remember.
It can
be easily set up to accurately cut rabbit and groove
joints, finger joints, consistently spaced dado’s, end cuts,
blanks and more. Incidentally, there is one wood joint that you
can use for almost every wood project
and it is called the
"rabbit and groove" joint. This joint is very
strong and made
very easily with our fixture. After learning to use this jig,
you
will realize that everything else is just boring or too complicated.
If you
don’t have our jig in your shop, you might be losing lot’s of
potential
work. If you do custom work and ever thought "how can
I come up with a
highly accurate device to bring in some component
work, Xtra Products has your
solution.
"I
really understand
what you
mean when you talk about mass producing as opposed to specialized projects.
I work for ###### and I have also managed
##### in the past. Both of the
experiences have given me an understanding of streamlining work
processes
to maximize production. I had not thought of applying this to my
woodworking
because it was always just a hobby. However, woodworking costs way
too much
to be just a hobby. Since reading your web site, I have
undertaken a new look at
my shop and started working on turning it into a small side business.
I'll keep
you posted. By the way, your emails have been a great
resource, keep it up."

It
is
the acquisition of skills in particular, irrespective of
their utility, that is potent in making life meaningful. Since
man has no inborn skills, the survival of the species has depended
on the ability to acquire and perfect skills. Hence the mastery
of skills is a uniquely human activity and yields deep satisfaction.
- Eric Hoffer
Why purchase a Mascut 1.0?
In order for an economic community to partake in industry or the crafts, it must purchase
the machinery and acquire the experience of a master craftsmen. In the Middle Ages
when a certain town in Europe that was unable to find establish the
facilities to adequately
process wool, it was usually because it didn't have the technical skills. The growers of cotton
and the owners of sheep for a long time would ship the raw materials, often very long distances.
It had to ship the materials to wherever the skill and machinery was located. The same was with
lumber for furniture, and the machinery that comes to mind is the table saw invented in the late
Middle Ages. (Machinery was often invented in collaboration with instrument mechanics, primarily
the pocket watch and instrument makers). Instead of understanding the real potential of a table saw,
a majority of lumber is often sent long distances to be processed and then used on a saw. Knowing the
real potential found in a table saw suggests having the skills close the the
resources.
The Mascut 1.0 reveals the method, and it demonstrates the techniques of gauging and
precision cutting on a saw. The Mascut 1.0, along with the incredible clarity in the manual
and included Video, now on DVD assists in rapidly advancing mechanical talent, which
then results in productivity.
Thomas from N.J. recently commented: "Now why didn't I think
of this! A wonderful Idea, Can't wait to get set-up." THANKS!
